Matters Arising: Industry Observer Pours Out Sentiments (part 1)

Hi dear reader, a lot of things have happened in the entertainment industry and today I run you through some of them, trying to make you figure out some of the good, laughable or unserious things that happen in this industry.

Let`s take the first one from Nana Kontihene:
Emmanuel Nana Appiah Boateng aka Kontihene is a living testimony that good compositions get better with time like any Italian wine. From his solid performance at this year's GMA and recently a “Nite of 1016 Laughs” Kontihene has once again proven that vintage music will also survive in the face of mediocre compositions. Watching him perform at those events, one thing kept running through my mind: “can Nana Boro, Stay Jay or even Yaw Siki get the same response if they mount any stage now?”

Okyeame Kwame : Is it me or am just not in sync with current musical trends? Is it obvious that, OK is trying so hard to impress trying to change the status quo. I like his song with Bertha but I think in all fairness he is moving far away in his pursuit of non – existent musical excellence especially here in Ghana. Well, the Drama idea is laudable but hey OK, you are hip-hop artiste first. All these add –ons I am struggling to adjust. Well, maybe for commercial purposes and also to raise some money for the house since we all know you are such a good family man. I am not sure you have not cheated on your boo but yet, faithful huh? Am still digging, hello Mrs., panting for info? Well dodged.

RAAAA: How come Trigmatic is struggling for mainstream recognition after his first album? You see, Trigmatic's struggles epitomize the fact that we don't appreciate good music hence all the crappy songs we listen to on radio every day. I watched trig at +233 and listened to some of his current songs like Sika, Fatima and Game boy and ask myself, how come songs like “Ole Seke Ni wo Ye” and the likes are more popular? Lord have mercy, the struggle is on Trig but one day everything will change.

R2Bees: Who is the A&R for R2BEES? That person should be the wackiest A&R ever and must pick some industry lessons 101 for the likes of Elorm Beenie and Verus Nartey. How come it's so difficult to get footages of their performances online? From Tamale, USA, Big brother and even their appreciation concert nothing online to view.

It is mind boggling that getting footages for their shows online is a challenge. Even on the big brother website their performance at that event is not there except for their interviews before their performance. On the same website, Ice Prince is clearly visible. May be they don't see the importance of making it a point to be visible 360 on all mediums. Kinda sad if you ask me anyway.

Tema Rundown: R2BEES appreciation came off at the Tema sports stadium with all the organizational 'wahala.' Tear gas issues, poor crowd control by the police, late start of the show etc. All said and done, Sarkodie was not on the show and we all asked why? Back track to the Malta Guinness show and we are performing not performing saga, R2bess pull out, Samini stepped in and Sarkodie took his own destiny into his hands and performed at the show. R2bess took offence and started pointing fingers at Sarkodie as the Judas among the Tema Clique. Rapperholic came off at the Dome on 25th December last year, R2bees performed at the Ghana Movie Awards about five minutes' walk from the Dome but the guys failed to show up to support their brother. It quickly dawned on me that R2BEES still have issues with Sarkodie. The only notable face from the R2BESS camp at Rapperholic that night was Killbeatz who came to support.

Sarkodie casted a pale shadow at the launch at the Revolution 2 album launch. The guy looks like someone begging to be accepted. The same issue also juxtaposed to R2bees telling Wizkid not to perform with Samini at the Ghana meets Niaja concert.

It's clear the center cannot hold for the TEMA boys, Stay Jay and D Cryme struggling to make a hit, Nana Boro is good as dead, Yaw Siki still recovering, Danso Abiam errrrmm well well, Kofi Korea MTN Hit maker. Let's hope they can get some home support.

Skinny Jeans You Never Want To Put Your Butt In

Dear IMB Reader,   No matter how skinny you actually are, there’s no way you should ever be caught dead in these disastrous denim DON’TS. Seriously, just don’t. I’d rather prefer you go pantless; that’s how bad these are. 1. These jeans sure do bring a whole new meaning to the whole, “eyes in the back of my head…oops, I mean butt!” saying. WINKERS JEANS  2. I love a good denim DIY as much as the next girl. Creating cutout slits for your butt cheeks though…defs not a tutorial I want to read! EXPOSED BUTT JEANS 3. Is it a string bikini bottom? A thong? A pair of jeans? Ohhhh wait…it’s a combination of all three! HOT.

Public Masturbation Has Been Declared Legal In Sweden

On June 6, 2013 a 65-year-old man took off his shorts at a beach near Stockholm and began masturbating into the ocean. According to Swedish newsite, The Local ; the man was charged with sexual assault, but was acquitted last week after a judge ruled that he was not targeting a specific person. The prosecutor even implied that it was “okay” to play with yourself in public! Public Prosecutor,   Olof Vrethammar said: “For this to be a criminal offence it’s required that the sexual molestation was directed towards one or more people. I think the court’s judgement is reasonable. With that we can conclude that it is okay to masturbate on the beach.” Vrethammar however agreed that in the future, public masturbation might be considered disorderly conduct. The ruling in this case comes just three months after Sweden’s last major sex scandal. Okay, I just had to chip this one in… The Swedish police in Stockholm also announced that same June, 2013 that a man who RAPES

PHOTOS: Historical Judgment Babies #SupremeCourtVerdict

Thursday August 29, 2013, shall forever remain a historic day in the lives of Ghanaians. But like any ordinary day, it certainly marks the last day on earth for some people and the first for others. Coincidently the number “29” seems to have some uncanny importance as the major persons involved  in the 2012 Election petition,  John Dramani Mahama and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, were both born on the 29 th- John was on the 29 th November and Nana 29 th March. Though President John Mahama has not yet celebrated his birthday this year, some of his fans expressed the belief that this is a memorable day for him and the party. Consequently, out of sheer curiosity, The General Telegraph visited some health facilities in Accra just to find out the number of babies born on this historic day with the auspicious hope that they might all turn into great personalities someday. As of 2: 00 pm on Thursday, the Osu Maternity Home, La General Hospital , Police
