TGIF goes off Metro TV

Popular family entertainment show "Thank God It's Friday" will no longer be shown on Metro TV.

Kwaku Sintim-Misa announced this on his twitter handle saying "Sorry folks, TGIF is not longer on Metro: But stay tuned - CHANGE IS COMING. Watch this SPACE".

Kwaku Sintim-Misa "KSM" created what has become one Ghana’s most popular talk show: Thank God It’s Friday (TGIF).

TGIF was the first broadcast of its kind to fuse serious talk, education and humour. Since its inception, the show has featured gripping stories from entrepreneurs, street vendors, dancing presidents, pioneering scientists, leading artists and many more exciting characters.

"KSM" recently won the Radio and Television Personality Television Entertainment Show Host of the Year (2011) for his work with TGIF.

This announcement confirms rumours that Sapphire Entertainment, KSM's company that produces the show would be pulling the plugs on the longest running television program of its kind in Ghana.

The show has been running for nearly ten years.

The reason for this decision still remains unclear.

Akos breaks TV3 Mentor's male winner record

The male dominance in TV3′s Mentor  came to an end in the wee hours of Monday, August 19, 2013 when Roselyn Akosua Mantey, popularly called Akos, was adjudged winner of Season VII of the station’s flagship reality show.  She beat competition from Gabriel Ansah, populalrly known as Gabby, and Honny Kingsley Theophilus, also known as Honny, to walk away with the sleek Hyndai Accent saloon car. She will also be GH¢7,000 richer and will receive souvenirs from sponsors.
