Getting use to the atmosphere and environment of the Brong Ahafo Region,I have just realised the people here are disadvantaged as far as media hype is the subject matter.
News from this part of the country is not popular on our blogs.I think I can now give them some publicity as far as my visit will permit me.Even though I chanced late on this item ,I guess it is still worth knowing
Effective August 1,2013, Mr Francis Owusu Ansah popularly known in broadcasting circles as Agama will head STORM FM 101.9 as its new General Manager.
Announcing the decision at the plush Eusbett Hotel last
Tuesday, Secretary to the Board of Directors,
Mr C.K Asare urged the
workers to rally behind the new general manager to justify its slogan of
TAKING THE LEAD.
The General Manager of Eusbett Hotel, Mr Robert O.
Mensah who is also a board member of the STORM BRAND observed that
leadership is critical to the success of every company.
Mr Owusu Ansah a proud product of Opoku Ware School
(Okatakyie) is an ace broadcaster, a seasoned administrator and a
theologian. The new general manager is highly skilled in the art and
science of editing having edited for many media houses.
In his acceptance speech, the General Manager commended
the Board for the opportunity given him and promised to live up to the
high expectations.
He advised the workers to eschew poor attitudes and abide strictly by the rules and regulations governing the Station.
High premium would be placed on ensuring discipline,
raising the corporate image and improving the company’s finances in his
administration.
Despite the stiff competition in Sunyani with almost 12 radio stations, STORM FM in less than two has given practical meaning to its slogan of TAKING THE LEAD. It has chalked so many firsts including the successful organization of is B/A MEET UR MATEZ and Brong Ahafo Youth Festival that rewarded prominent but forgotten heroes like Kwasi Wusu(formerly of Black Stars,BA United)Joseph Adom of J.Adom Ltd, Mr Obed Asante(Ghana Nuts Ltd), Mr Charles Ofori who has invented smoke detector (native of Nsoatre and first year student of KNUST)etc.
