Mass Transfer of all officers in Sunyani over corruption allegations

The Police Administration has directed the transfer of all officers of the Motor Traffic Transport Unit (MTTU) at Sunyani in the Bono Ahafo Region, over their alleged involvement in corrupt practices.

The officers were alleged to have extorted monies from commuters particularly, those who ply the Techiman-Buipe road.

Director-General of the MTTU of the Police Service, ACP Angwubutoge Awuni announced this in Wa, the Upper West Regional capital, while addressing officers there.

“I have just announced the transfer of every MTTU officer in Sunyani, from the Commander to the last Constable; I've transferred all of them and asked them that they should wait for a vehicle.

Because the allegations of corruption as far as members of the Police Service are concerned, especially within the Kintampo-Tachiman-Buipe stretch has been a matter of concern and the IGP [Inspector General of Police] is not happy at all.”

He warned the officers in Wa to “reform their mode of operation” in the discharge of their duties else; “we will not hesitate to do the same to you”.

Clarifying further on Newsnight, ACP Awuni said the transfer “takes immediate effect” and the affected officers will be “taken out of the MTTU” and sent to other departments of the Police Service for observation.

He said investigations will be commissioned into the allegations and the officers found culpable will be prosecuted.

According to him, the decision is part a holistic approach being adopted by the Administration to rid the Service of corrupt officers, adding that, what has happened in Sunyani will be replicated across the country.

Public Masturbation Has Been Declared Legal In Sweden

On June 6, 2013 a 65-year-old man took off his shorts at a beach near Stockholm and began masturbating into the ocean. According to Swedish newsite, The Local ; the man was charged with sexual assault, but was acquitted last week after a judge ruled that he was not targeting a specific person. The prosecutor even implied that it was “okay” to play with yourself in public! Public Prosecutor,   Olof Vrethammar said: “For this to be a criminal offence it’s required that the sexual molestation was directed towards one or more people. I think the court’s judgement is reasonable. With that we can conclude that it is okay to masturbate on the beach.” Vrethammar however agreed that in the future, public masturbation might be considered disorderly conduct. The ruling in this case comes just three months after Sweden’s last major sex scandal. Okay, I just had to chip this one in… The Swedish police in Stockholm also announced that same June, 2013 that a man who RAPES

But like any ordinary day, it certainly marks the last day on earth for some people and the first for others. Though President John Mahama has not yet celebrated his birthday this year, some of his fans expressed the belief that this is a memorable day for him and the party. Consequently, out of sheer curiosity, The General Telegraph visited some health facilities in Accra just to find out the number of babies born on this historic day with the auspicious hope that they might all turn into great personalities someday. As of 2: 00 pm on Thursday, the Osu Maternity Home, La General Hospital , Police
