A TRIP TO THE WILD WEST

A tour to the Western Region is always fun.
At sun burst, I was at European Town an Industrial area in Takoradi, in the Western Region of Ghana, which existed in the early 1400s. That gave me enough time to tour parts of the city.”
EUROPEAN TOWN

I came across the high court building which was built in 1901-1925 and crossed over to the Takoradi railway lines (Ketan Railway).

Then to the Takoradi port which was built in 1928 and then I understood that the shift of trade from Sekondi to Takoradi made the merchants to move to Takoradi and left the city of Sekondi. The Boulevard shops on the left and right for trade helped in merchandising the Takoradi harbor.”

SEKONDI TRAIN STATION

This made Takoradi to develop more than Sekondi. The architecture buildings in these twin towns are different.

The buildings in Takoradi are tall Like the chapel on the hill. But Sekondi cant boost of such nicely built places.”

TAKORADI ON THE HILL, SEKONDI IN THE VALLEY
I went to my car and drove to Port Orange which was the Dutchs trading port in the 14th-16th centuries which was used to keep slaves who waited to board slave ships to Europe.

What amazed me was the class of the architecture and interior decor of the place. I was also impressed with how they have maintained the history for upcoming generations like us.

My mission furthered me to the Guggisberg memorial, to remember the man who built the railway lines, the light house for the Naval, U.A.C (UNITED AFRICA COMPANY) by the British from 1901-1920,

And also the Takoradi harbour, Achimota school, and left the country in the year 1929.  Around the same place was an old building in a bad shape which was the Supreme Court.”

SUPREME COURT

I set off for Nzulezu, deep south and each group of five people was assigned to one boat and a paddler who acted as a tour guide. It was an hour of boat riding to Nzulezu. Breathtaking is an understatement for describing the experience on water.”
“The water looked dark and clean. The whole place looked foggy, and the water was calm and cool.”

THE DARK NZULEZU RIVER

We passed through a jungle which was made of raffia palm, which palm wine is extracted. We entered the second jungle where ferns are used to trap fishes from the main lagoon.”

The view of the horizon was artistic. There was grass on the water and it smelt fresh and healthy.”

The people in the village celebrate the Kundum festival. The expedition did not end there as we went through a thick Jungle totally different from the first one that we went through. We went through a never ending journey.”

NZULEZU

Now I had a thrilling experience on water. And I was expecting another thrilling experience back to our previous destination but we went through another route.”
Soon we got to the village Abonua where we went aboard our bus and to Nkruful, we went to the birth place and burial place of Kwame Nkrumah, Ghanas first President.”

NKRUFUL

Next was a fort which was only for transit for slaves before the Takoradi harbor.”

The fort also has a history of once sheltering Adolf Hitler who swam ashore and had to rest in this fort from his many voyages.”

In 2004 charles Hammilton a U.S peace corp. sought to put the place in order.”

We also visited the cape three points which is the southwards part of Ghana, where currently petroleum have been discovered. The place is close to the sea and the sea waves are very strong.”

For once I had the chance to climb the light towers that signals the ships to come up shore.”

FORT BATENSTEIN

On last day, I went to Busua Beach to tour the Beach resort and drove back home."

BEACH

I really enjoyed myself visiting all these places. It has helped me to create an album of historic sites and memorable places which will remain in my brains eye forever.

I now know why the best comes from the west.

SPECIAL EDITION: PRAY OVER YOUR MARRIAGE and another love story

Dear readers,  Words are powerful. I have learnt to let most of the things I say be positive and contain a prayer. Praying God's word over your marriage is important.  Marriage is a blessing from God, but it is not always cherished the way it should be; Maybe because life gets busy, or we get distracted; Maybe because we start to take one another for granted; Or we disagree and let resentments hang on longer than they should. Hm! I was taught recently that the baggages we bring along from our past, into our marriages are a great burden as well. We take these baggages for granted but believe you me, most old baggages, are the cause of most broken marriages.  Some baggages are in the form of old girlfriends and boyfriends who are witches and wizards, or left some kind of spiritual bonding with your spouse. Some are in the form of just clingy exes. Some baggages may even just be low self esteem or extreme high expectations. When joined as ''one'', a new battle to...

Taste and see... THE LOVE STORY (birthday in the midst of Covid 19)

Buenos dias a todos, I have been writting posts about marriage beacause I feel inspired to share my personal experiences in marriage to help save other marriages. Along the way, I realized other couples also wanted to share thier experiences as well to help save more marriages. What a blessing God has given unto us to expand His kingdom. Come one, come all. Let us go out there and save more marriages.  Today, I am narrating the full story of this same beautiful man I met a long time ago. FYI, he is even more beautiful presently.  I met him when I had just completed High School. He had also just completed College.  I was working as a sales girl in a garment shop. A colleague of mine was his friend. He had come there to visit her and give her a flyer advertising a drama school he was starting. We had common intrest: film making. I still remember that first glance at him clearly like it was yesterday, ''What a beautiful boy'' I thought. Then took a second look at hi...

Making the effort part 3 (TAKEN FOR GRANTED?)

Bonjour a tous, We have discussed conciously making up our minds to work on our marriages or relationships.  We have learnt to go to God in difficult situations, we have decided divorce is not an option. Does that mean we give a green pass to our spouse to be unfaithful to us?  Or for our spouses to neglect the core values of spicing up the marriage and keeping it enjoyable.  Marriage is about consisently doing life together. what do we do in our daily lives.  Lets remind ourselves; sleep, wake up, prepare breakfast, eat, take a shower, wash dishes, go to work, attend to peoples needs, come back home, have dinner, take another bath, sleep! Oh I think I left out prayer! And if you have kids under ten(not in all cases), helping them take a bath and getting ready for school and bed.  And making sure they are fed. On weekends its a whole new plan which may include more or less activities.  Can we think of not hurting our spouses or keeping them...
